CURRENT PROJECTS
Heart of the Goddess | A
lyric drama by Valerie Martinez. “Heart of the Goddess" explores
the reality of female sacrifice, ancient and contemporary,
by following two narratives—the story of an Aztec
girl, chosen for sacrifice, who endures the ultimate
test of duty and faithfulness to her beliefs and her
tribe, and the story of two contemporary women, archaeology
students, who grapple with critical choices dictated
by personal dreams and the war-time urgencies of culture
and society.
