TURN THE LENS: COMMUNITY FILMMAKING
David Gallegos is a facilitator, health educator, producer, and teaching artist. In 2011 he initiated the Colorado office of Littleglobe. An experienced producer and community arts programmer David has developed projects both in The United Sates and abroad. As a producer he has worked on a wide range of video documentary projects and was the Production Director for Memorylines, a large-scale, five-month long community dialogue performance project commissioned by The Santa Fe Opera and The Lensic Performing Arts Center. He worked as the human resources director for Sounds True Publishing, an event planner, a coordinator for health and wellness conferences, and has been a health educator with the Boulder County Aids Project and many other organizations. For Memorylines David worked with middle school students creating original work that addressed challenging issues in their lives as well as created an intergenerational component with seniors at Santa Fe Cares nursing home. David served as project director for Littleglobe’s Common Ground: Cuba/Torreon/Ojo Encino project, an intergenerational project with two Dine communities and the rural community of Cuba, New Mexico. Gallegos is devoted to integrating health and wellness topics into all of his community work and is a trained dancer and writer.
