While traveling with the Wassa Wassa drum and dance group in Guinea, West Africa in January 2017, Luke Carr visited the Kissidugu School, a campus founded by drummer and dancer Fara Tolno. As Litteglobe artists, Luke and Caitlin Brothers (also members of the world-building music group Storming The Beaches With Logos In Hand) are now working in collaboration with the Kissidugu Foundation, to bring media production tools and skills to students there this January 2018.
The Kissidugu Foundation is committed to creating sustainable and equitable opportunities for individuals and communities, through civic dialogue, education, cultural preservation and the perpetuation of Guinean music and dance.
This collaboration between Littleglobe, Storming The Beaches With Logos In Hand and the Kissidugu Foundation is currently raising funds to make this work possible.
We are also seeking out media production equipment, such as digital video cameras, audio recording equipment and laptop computers to be donated to the school in support of this work.
