Valerie Martínez is a poet, teacher, translator, playwright, librettist, editor and collaborative artist who descends from Pueblo, Dine and Hispanic ancestors in the Southwest US. For the past fifteen years, she has worked with children, young adults, adults, teachers, and elders in a wide range of community engagement programs. Current and recent Littleglobe projects include Rivers Run Through Us, the Santa Fe Bus Opera, and Stories of Route 66:The International District. Valerie also organized and launched Littleglobe’s Center for Creative Community Engagement, a training initiative that nurtures a pool of skilled artists and cultural workers to evolve community engagement work in the southwest U.S.
